Denemo (ver 0.9.0) Freeware Denemo is a music notation editor that lets you rapidly compose, transcribe, and arrange music. Music can be typed-in at the keyboard, played-in from a MIDI file or MIDI controller, or input acoustically (singing/playing) via a microphone plugged into your computer's soundcard. Programs such as Denemo and OOoLilyPond output LilyPond format ASCII text. The included LilyPond utility software will convert these LilyPond format ASCII text music files into professional quality sheet music. NOTE: This is the last Windows 2000 compatible version. Cautions: This installer includes LilyPond and everything you need to create, print and playback. It is about 50MB in size. If you previously installed Denemo you should either delete the folder ".denemo" in your home directory, or (if you have customized it) edit the preferences. The lilypond path and the pdf reader should be left blank. You may need to tweak the sample-rate and period-size to avoid distorted MIDI playback. Higher values are safer but add more latency. 1024 or 2048 are "safe" values. Note that automatic update from the Internet is not available in Windows (you will need to ftp new commands if you need them). Upload of your scripts to denemo.org is not possible on windows. ---------- OOoLilyPond (ver 0.4.0) Freeware As a bonus, I am including the OOoLilyPond OpenOffice Extension Package (just click on the "*.oxt" file, and OpenOffice will launch the installer). OOoLilyPond is a preview tool for Open Office, that allows you to see how a raw LilyPond format ASCII text music file you are coding (writing) will look after LilyPond converts it into sheet music.
