HydraIRC is working to achieve all of the capability of the non-freeware mIRC 
software.  At this time it is still in beta development, but even at this 
stage, it is still far ahead of almost all other freeware IRC clients, and   
an excellent choice for a Win2k IRC client.  


Also included is SoundPack #1, a "beeps and blips" WAV file add-on for use 
with HydraIRC's sound notifications.  Unzip it to HydraIRC\sounds and configure 
your notification prefs (Options/ Prefs/ Buddy Groups/ Notifications).
