Hyperterminal that comes with Windows 2000 is primarily intended for Dialup,
and sites using Plain Text.  Most modern BBS software uses TelNet through an 
Ethernet Internet connection, and use ANSI color characters.  

mTelnet is a nice small [VT100] TelNet client recommended by many BBS operators.
It allows cut/paste (highlight with the mouse, then right-click to copy).
A very nice feature is that it works very well when called from Firefox.
