Feed Notifier is a RSS & Atom feed notifier intended 
to help you follow "Real-Time" events such as unfolding 
news stories, convention reports, and craigslist posts.  
It resides in the system tray or status bar, and displays 
pop-up notifications on your desktop (be sure to disable 
any pop-up blocker software) when new items arrive from 
one of your subscribed feeds.
